Orientation:

The cottage in Soar, Talsarnau is situated approximately midway between circled numbers 15 and 23. This about half-way between Mount Snowdon and Cader Idris (Dolgellau). The cottage lies along a private drive off a quiet lane and easily located from the A496.

WALKS
A very wide range from easy, safe and level walks to some of the most challenging in Britain but all of them memorable. Some of Snowdonia National Park’s most scenic walks are a short distance away. Details of a comprehensive selection of walks are available at both bungalows.
Beach walks along the beautiful sandy, unspoilt beaches of Dyffryn Ardudwy (21), Llandanwg (22), & Morfa Harlech (National Nature Reserve) (23).
Waterfall walks in Cwm Nantcol (24) & Coed y Brenin (25).
Woodland walks in Coed y Brenin & Aber Artro Woods (27), Llanbedr (Woodland Trust), famous for bluebells late April/May.
Mountain walks beyond the Roman Steps in Cwm Bychan (28) into the Rhinog Range and to the summit of Cader Idris (29) and Mt Snowdon (all National Nature Reserves).
Estuary walks along the bank of the River Mawddach (30) also across Barmouth Bridge. Barmouth: Panorama Walk (31), Dinas Oleu (National Trust) (32), the first ever property donated to the National Trust. Precipice Walk (33), Torrent Walk (34), near Dolgellau.
